Off-white and near-white codes
Pure white is not always the best choice. A slightly warm or cool off-white can feel softer on the eyes, look more premium, or match a brand. Every shade below keeps near-black text (#18181B) far above the WCAG AAA 7:1 threshold. The "View" link opens each one as a full screen.

White color code FAQ
#FFFFFF (short form #FFF). It means red, green and blue are all at their maximum of 255, the brightest color a screen can show.
rgb(255, 255, 255). In decimal (0–1) notation, used in shaders and some apps, it's 1.0, 1.0, 1.0.
0, 0, 0, 0: no ink at all. In print, "white" is simply the paper, so how white it looks depends on the paper stock. White ink is a special spot color.
Pure #FFFFFF is the standard and gives the most contrast. For long reading or to reduce glare, a very light off-white like #FAFAFA (neutral) or #FDFBF7 (warm) looks softer. Check that your text still passes at least 4.5:1 with the contrast checker.
Marketplaces like Amazon require the main image background to be pure white, RGB 255, 255, 255 (#FFFFFF). A background that is only nearly white (e.g. 250, 250, 250) can make the image look grey next to other listings. See the photography guide.
Yes. The CSS keyword white, #FFF, #FFFFFF, rgb(255 255 255), hsl(0 0% 100%) and oklch(1 0 0) all produce exactly the same color.
